Carson Chan is the inaugural Director of the Emilio Ambasz Institute for the Joint Study of the Built and Natural Environment at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), where he is also a Curator in the Architecture and Design Department. He co-curated the 4th Marrakech Biennale in 2012, and in 2013 he was Executive Curator of the Biennial of the Americas in Denver. Chan is has published criticism and academic writing widely and was formerly Editor-at-Large at 032c. His doctoral research at Princeton traces the history of the architecture of public aquariums in the USA during the rise of post-WWII environmentalism.
