Cass Foster

关于作者

Cass started his academic career moving directly from earning his MFA in Directing from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana to an Assistant Professorship at The Ohio State University. Cass's eclectic background includes teaching all aspects of theatre to directing shows both academically and professionally. Besides his expertise with Shakespeare he choreographs stage fights throughout the U.S. When asked about the origins of his Shakespeare series he tells us, "While on the university faculty I was often approached by high school teachers to help them better understand either teaching or directing Shakespeare. "Help. Please. I never studied Shakespeare and have no experience directing. And now I'm asked to both." So helping them was the bottom line to the series. I think the books as well as the very kind reviews speak for themselves. "The greatest gift from this fascinating experience is when Nellie (his wife) and I have been invited to elementary and high schools to view their performances and meet with their students. Their success, enthusiasm and love of Shakespeare is what this is all about. Their introduction to the one-hour version has accomplished what I intended from the very start: the desire to explore his plays as fully written. "So whether you are as young as the highly enthusiastic second graders who have staged these scripts or as old and amazing as some of the community theatre participants who produce them, I hope you enjoy and benefit from the series as much as I have. "As we say, here on Kauai: Mahalo Nui Loa."
