In 2015, Cathy Bennett retired early from a technology Sales career to travel and care for her husband, Michael, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2014. During this season, she discovered a love for writing that gave her type-A personality a welcome channel for sharing her perceptions about the beauty and connection in life. Her writing passions and goals transitioned as her active professional life gave way to full-time caregiving. Cathy’s initial endeavor, the food blog ItsThyme2Cook, embraced her love of cooking and twenty years of culinary adventures in her Gourmet Group. Yet she hungered for something more spiritually sustaining as care responsibilities increased. Grasping faith as her next chapter for inspiration, she launched the Faith4Caregivers Facebook group as a faith community to support caregivers. She met an all-important need for time-constrained caregivers by encouraging them in their daily struggles through her devotionals and prayers. The faith revelations revealed on this journey gave birth to Faith For Caregiver Emotions. Cathy’s love of God’s Word and how it intersects with daily life also led to her ministry, Tidbit of Faith, which delivers weekly encouragement and hope to all Christian believers. God continues to give her a heart for caregivers and the courage to seek faith insight for the widow’s stage of life. Cathy is a mother, grandmother, Bible study leader, hope-giver, and a self-taught culinary enthusiast who shares recipes and tempting food photos, inspiring those who say they don’t cook to have second thoughts. She enjoys time with family and friends, all things outdoors, and making messes in the kitchen worth blogging about. She thrives in the bold yet often cold area near Minneapolis.
