Chantal M. Roberts, CPCU, AIC, RPA is a self-described insurance nerd with over 20 years of experience as a multi-lined claims adjuster. She is currently a professor of risk management and insurance at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, City University of New York, where she injects humor into a topic that can be as dry as burnt toast. Chantal is the award-nominated author of three books. Her first book, written for mid-career adjusters, drew on her experience as an adjuster, claims manager, and expert witness. Her second book, A Love Story: How the Heartland Fell in Love With a 400-Year-Old Playwright, is a a narrative-fiction of Kansa City’s year-long festival celebrating Molière’s 400th birthday. Her latest book, Once Upon A Claim: Fairy Tales to Protect Your Ass(ets), set to be released on May 11, 2024, aims to provide consumers with a better understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims so they can be better advocates for themselves. Chantal is also a published author of several articles in professional journals, covering topics ranging from active shooter situations to COVID-19 claims handling and pitfalls in marijuana policies. When she's not busy with her insurance-related pursuits, Chantal can be found at home in Overland Park, Kansas, with her extremely tolerant husband, her loving dog, and a cat who ignores her.
