Charisse N. Montgomery

Charisse (Nikki) Montgomery, a patient advocate and educational psychologist, is the author of the Super Safe Kids books series and toolkits. She is dedicated to helping kids and families improve their health literacy, understand complex medical and safety issues, and get actively involved in safety for equitable outcomes. Ms. Montgomery lives in Ohio with her husband and their son, who was born with a rare and debilitating neuromuscular condition. Ms. Montgomery has served on hospital boards, patient and family advisory councils, and safety and quality committees; she has worked with many organizations that improve the experiences and outcomes of patients and families in the healthcare setting. A former educator, Ms. Montgomery has a master’s degree in Educational Psychology, with research focused on informing and empowering parents of medically fragile children.
