Charles Herrick

I was born and raised in Lodi, California. Joining the Army at 17, I graduated from the US Military Academy in 1974 and was commissioned in the infantry. I earned the Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge and Combat Infantryman Badge and graduated from the US Army War College. I also have an MBA from UCLA. Between my time on active duty and as a contractor I have served in east Asia, Latin America, the Balkans, Africa and central Asia. Now retired fully, I enjoy researching and writing on military history topics. I have a lovely wife who has put up with much, and a son serving in the Army, who, with his great wife have blessed us with the world's cutest granddaughter.
