Charles Tranberg was born in La Puente, California. He moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1989 and has a degree in Marketing. He took up writing when he discovered over 150 boxes of papers belonging to film and TV legend Agnes Moorehead at the Wisconsin State Historical Society. From that tremendous primary source he wrote his first, best-selling, I LOVE THE ILLUSION: THE LIFE AND CAREER OF AGNES MOOREHEAD (2005). From there he has written books on MARIE WILSON (2006), FRED MACMURRAY (2007), THE THIN MAN FILMS (2008), ROBERT TAYLOR (2010) and THE WALT DISNEY LIVE ACTION FILMS 1955-1980 (2012). His most recent release is FREDRIC MARCH: A CONSUMMATE ACTOR (2013) He has also contributed articles to FILMS OF THE GOLDEN AGE and CLASSIC IMAGES.
