Chelsia Rose Marcius is the author of Wild Escape: The Prison Break from Dannemora and the Manhunt that Captured America. She is also a freelance reporter and a journalism professor at New York University. Previously, Chelsia worked as a staff reporter at the New York Daily News where she covered some of the biggest national stories of the decade, including the mass shooting in Las Vegas, N.V.; the marathon bombing in Boston; the Ariel Castro kidnappings in Cleveland; the Pulse shooting in Orlando; and the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, C.T. She has appeared on MSNBC, CNN, FOX News, BBC Radio, WNYC, CBS New York, Fox New York, Inside Edition, among others, to discuss her reporting. Chelsia’s work has also appeared in The New York Times and the Chicago Sun-Times. She has most recently reported for The Daily Beast and Good Morning America, where she covered Paul Manafort’s first trial in Alexandria, V.A. and the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh. Chelsia teaches the undergraduate course Journalistic Inquiry: The Written Word at NYU, where she also holds a master's degree in Journalism. She earned her bachelor's degrees in Journalism and International Studies from Loyola University Chicago. Wild Escape is her debut book.
