Cheryl L. Bruno has a B.S. in Recreation Management from Greensboro College, Greensboro, N.C., and did graduate work in Educational Psychology at Brigham Young University, Provo, UT. She is an independent researcher in Mormon studies, with an interest in the intersection of Mormonism and Freemasonry, Mormon esotericism and Mormon plural marriage. Cheryl is the author of Method Infinite: Freemasonry and the Mormon Restoration with Joe Steve Swick III and Nicholas S. Literski; editor of Secret Covenants: New Insights on Mormon Polygamy; and coauthor with John Dinger of Come Up Hither to Zion: William Marks and the Mormon Concept of Gathering. Her publications can be found in the Journal of Religion and Society, the John Whitmer Historical Association Journal, and the Journal of Mormon History. She has presented at numerous conferences including the Mormon History Association Annual Conference, the Claremont Mormon Studies Conference, the Pacific Northwest Region Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature, the John Whitmer Historical Association Annual Conference; and Sunstone Symposium. Cheryl published a personal essay in Baring Witness: 36 Mormon Women Talk Candidly about Love, Sex, and Marriage, edited by Holly Welker. She has published a number of book reviews for the Association for Mormon Letters. She enjoys writing poetry, some of which has appeared in Psaltery and Lyre, edited by Dayna Patterson, Dove Song: Heavenly Mother in Mormon Poetry, edited by Tyler Chadwick, et. al., and We Hold Your Name: Mormon Women Bless Mormons Facing Exile, edited by Kalani Tonga and Joanna Brooks. She has also created an original deck of Mormon tarot cards.
