Chris Garver

I've been a tattoo artist for the last 27 years and I'm interested in sharing my love of art through books. Hopefully, you'll enjoy my books as much as I have creating them. My first book is an adult coloring book which is quite ironic since I've been coloring peoples skins for my entire career. Not all of my designs are tattoo oriented, but quite a few of the motifs are inspired by that. Nature, mythology and geometry are the common thread throughout the book. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. and from an early age I was very interested in art. Most of the art that interested me was of an underground nature....anything from punk rock album covers and skateboard graphics to underground comics. As a teen I became fascinated by tattoos and it became quite an obsession. I attended the School of Visual Arts briefly but recklessly quit to pursue my passion for tattooing (much to the chagrin of my parents). Throughout my career, I have always travelled to work in different cities such as NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, Amsterdam, London, Osaka and Tokyo. Everywhere that Iv'e been ,I've managed to pick something up that I can use. Traveling and adventure have always been an integral part of my life and art.
