Chris Troutner

Chris Troutner fell in love with the San Juan Islands at age seven on a family trip to Sucia Island. He has visited the islands at least once a year since, and he’s spent his adult life trying to live as close to them as possible. In 2009 he built an electric bicycle, which he traded for his first sail boat, the 'Sea Muse'. His first two years sailing around the islands awakened the desire in him to live even closer to the islands. In 2011, he sold the 'Sea Muse' in order to buy the 'Rock ‘n Row', a forty foot Cruise-a-Home houseboat in need of much repair. He and his wife have been restoring the boat and adventuring the islands on the 'Rock ‘n Row' ever since. In May 2013, he and his wife plan to live on the boat full time.
