Christi Harlan

CHRISTI HARLAN is the author of "Mr. President, The Class Is Yours," containing the previously unpublished transcripts of 14 Bible lessons taught by President Jimmy Carter at the First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, D.C., along with historical context of his presidency, 1977-1981. During a 20-year journalism career, Christi's articles appeared on the front pages of the Wall Street Journal, the Dallas Morning News and the Austin American-Statesman. After leaving newspapers, she held top communications jobs at the Senate Banking Committee, Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. In August 1993, Christi joined the First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, D.C., where her journalism skills of taking notes and writing were suited to years of service as church clerk and volunteer communications director. She is owned by two cats.
