Christos Kokkinos

He holds a master’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Neurosciences (neurobiology - neuropsychology) and a doctorate in Psychosomatic Medicine. He is a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Behavioral and Psychosomatic Medicine. Trained in Clinical Psychology, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology, Naturopathic Treatment and Eating Disorders. He specialized in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Counseling and Approaching Patients with Impending Death. He worked as a Radiologist - Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine Radiologist for over a decade in radiation therapy design for oncology patients in major hospitals in Greece. Through his many years of daily work with Oncology patients, patients with Idiopathic Inflammatory Diseases and people with Eating Disorders, he tries to interpret and investigate the common denominator under the physical manifestations of the diseases. His research interest is focused on the correlation of pathophysiological mechanisms that associate psychological states with diseases, and the development of interventions that target these mechanisms. He is currently researching the contribution of psychological, psychosocial, and behavioral factors to the onset, progression and management of physical and mental illness. He is a member of the British Psychological Association. He has attended numerous seminars, conferences, and trainings in human-related fields. He is an adult educator and therapy group coordinator. He is also the creator of educational and psycho-educational programs as well as specialization seminars aimed at health professionals. He is also a columnist, author, and Mentor. He is the founder of “Psychosomatic Therapy and Research” in Greece. He was honored in 2024 with the International Psychosomatic Medicine Scientist Award.
