Claire has always had a passion for outdoor adventure. This started at a young age, with both parents being involved in the Scout and Guide movements - resulting in many weekends spent under canvas, whittling sticks, peeling spuds, and cooking over an open fire. In adulthood, this led to adventure travel in many different countries and wild places around the world. Closer to home in Scotland, the adventure is constant; when Claire says she is just 'popping out' with a rucksack over her shoulder, don't expect to see her for a while. Her fascination to see where a trail leads to, or what's just around the next corner, feeds her constant desire to explore. Mixing a love of hills with owning horses, plus a craving for exploration, challenge, and adventure - led to a sport she likes to call dobbineering. She regularly carries out this gentle kind of mountaineering with horses in the Scottish Highlands, exploring the glens and an occasional hilltop but especially the history of the places and the routes travelled through.
