Claire Potter is a writer and mother to a boy and a girl - one adopted, one home-made - who have about as much in common as an orangutan and a butterfly! Pulled in different directions, Claire loves to think up outside-the-box ideas that lead to mini-adventures and (good) mischief to get up to with them. You can find a whole bunch of these ideas in "Keeping the Little Blighters Busy" and her former blog The Quirky Parent. After some traumatic childhood experiences round the family dinner table, she also set herself a parenting challenge: To create children who were non-fussy eaters and saw all food - not just chips and ice-cream - as one of life's biggest pleasures. So she had a big think and came up with a cunning plan. It worked and she shares her secrets in "Getting the Little Blighters to eat". You can also visit her website Stopfussyeating. Knowing how life with the little blighters can be exhausting and exasperating, next she set out to find out what we can do to make our day-to-day life as parents easier. What will really improve their behaviour? What does the evidence show? She interviewed child and family pyschologist Dr. Bonamy Oliver in-depth, squeezed the knowledge and expertise from her brain and squashed it into "Getting the Little Blighters to Behave". Here, in one little book, are all the techniques, tactics, tips and tricks that research shows really do work. "Which food will you choose?" is Claire's picture book for fussy little eaters. With fun choosing pages and a game you can play in real life, it will encourage your children to have a more curious, open-minded and adventurous to food - and go for something new and different! "Five Steps to Bed" is another fun 'choosing' picture book from Claire that gives you a clear strategy to create a calm, positive and stress-free bedtime routine with your children - and make it a time of day that they look forward to!
