Cleave Bourbon is a proud native of Texas. He draws upon his rich Texas heritage and a deep love of science fiction and fantasy to craft unique and captivating stories, including his signature "weird westerns." His passion for fantasy began in high school when he first read The Belgariad by David and Leigh Eddings, sparking a lifelong fascination with the genre. Cleave believes that the word "fantasy" stems from the limitless nature of the imagination, where the sky is the limit. This philosophy drives him to experiment with new twists and to breathe fresh life into classic tropes, unafraid to push the boundaries of the genre. With both a B.A. and an M.A. in English, Cleave not only dedicates himself to writing, but also teaches grammar, vocabulary, and writing to Junior High and High School students online. Teaching is more than a profession for him; it’s a passion he intends to pursue alongside writing for as long as he is able. Cleave currently resides in Texas with his Tortoiseshell cat, Khaleesi, and his nightmarish black cat, Shadow.
