Cody Marrs is a Professor of English at the University of Georgia, where he teaches and writes about American literature. He is the author or editor of several books and numerous articles. His books include "Melville, Beauty, and American Literary Studies: An Aesthetics in All Things" (Oxford, 2023), "American Literature in Transition, 1851-1877" (Cambridge, 2022), "Not Even Past: The Stories We Keep Telling About the Civil War" (Johns Hopkins, 2020), "The New Melville Studies" (Cambridge, 2019), "Timelines of American Literature" (Johns Hopkins, 2019), and "Nineteenth-Century American Literature and the Long Civil War" (Cambridge, 2015).
