Colette Heimowitz, M.Sc. Vice President, Nutrition and Education Colette Heimowitz works directly with medical professionals, health influencers and consumers to educate them about the Atkins Diet™ as a sustainable lifestyle. Colette led the formation of the Atkins Nutritionals Science Advisory Board, in which the nation’s top researchers share emerging science on how the Atkins Diet supports overall health. In collaboration with the Science Advisory Board, she provides up-to-date educational tools to help consumers integrate the Atkins Diet into their lives in order to successfully achieve their weight-loss and weight management goals. As the Vice President of Nutrition & Education at Atkins Nutritionals, Inc. Colette Heimowitz has been a driving force behind the scenes at the Atkins Learning Center. She brings a wealth of talents and experience to the job. Colette’s clinical nutrition degree comes full circle in keeping current with respect to the scientific research related to the Atkins Diet and nutrition and translates that information for the discussion boards as well as the Atkins web site. She has 20-plus years of experience as a nutritionist, which includes the time she spent with Dr Atkins as director of nutrition at The Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine. Colette is involved in the medical community, attending a variety of events and conferences to keep up with the latest research and meet other experts in the field. She speaks annually to students at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York on the importance of nutrition. In addition, she has collected a library of over 1,500 scientific research studies that demonstrate the impact nutrition has on health issues such as weight loss and weight management, heart disease, cancer and diabetes. As a nutrition expert, Colette has been featured on national television networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC. Previously, Colette was the Director of Nutrition at the Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine. Prior to her role at the Center, Colette directed nutritional departments at several nutrition-oriented medical practices, including), World Health Medical Group (New York City), and Integrative Medicine Center (New York City). Her clinical contributions include creating and directing patient-specific routines and designing modified sports nutrition programs. She has 20 years of experience setting up nutrition departments in physician offices, creating educational materials and dietary plans,as well as providing individual consultations.
