Conor McCabe

关于作者

Conor McCabe has always been passionate about books. Growing up surrounded by shelves of literature, he developed a deep love for stories across genres, inspired by his parents both avid readers. Clearly, reading is a family tradition and cherished activity for the McCabe family. By the age of eight, Conor was exploring secondhand bookstores, discovering the James Bond series and sparking his lifelong love for fiction. Conor's daughter, who enjoys Agatha Christie and teen adventures, read fifty books during the Covid pandemic. His son, when not composing music, is an avid Stephen King fan. Conor's first book, Kira Discovers Ballet, inspired by his daughter’s ballet journey, and created with illustrator, Luca Jovanovic, and editor, Elaine Dodge, celebrates the determination of a young girl to explore something new, and the joy she encountered as a result. For Conor, books are a gateway to inspiration and growth. He enjoys science fiction, thrillers, mysteries, and biographies, with favorites like Dune by Frank Herbert, Shōgun by James Clavell, and Papillon by Henri Charrière. Conor also finds inspiration in nonfiction, including Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, and books on Stoicism, evolution, and astrophysics. "Reading is a lifelong habit that opens the door to endless knowledge and delight," Conor said at the launch of Kira Discovers Ballet. "Both fiction and non-fiction can inspire readers to embrace their own dreams, to find joy in their journeys, and it's never too early to start."
