Consuelo Saah Baehr was born in El Salvador to French/Palestinian parents. At age five she joined her father and five uncles in Washington, D.C. where they ran the prestigious boutique department store, Jean Matou, a favorite of Bess Truman and Jackie Kennedy. She was inspired to write Three Daughters from hearing the history of her paternal grandparents who survived the rule of the Ottomans, the British Mandate, and ultimately found their future in America. Currently she lives in the village of East Hampton, NY in a small cottage close to the Atlantic Ocean. Fairly often she writes about the everydayness of life in her blog, The Repurposed Writer. consuelosaahbaehr.com
