Penny (Penelope) Manegan Klatell is a doctoral level nurse, wellness coach, former college professor, author, Mom and YiaYia (grandmother). She learned about hard work in her parents’ old fashioned New York City luncheonette—the kind with a long counter, flat top grill, and a real malted machine. She learned where food really comes from – not just grocery store shelves - on her grandmother’s farm where meals were made from scratch, eggs came from roaming chickens, fruit came from trees and bushes, and vegetables came from the garden. She went on to study nursing earning a BS, MA, PhD, and certificates in nutrition and coaching. She turned to full-time writing after retiring from teaching and coaching and uses her background and life experience in her book development. She lives in Connecticut with her family and two loveable and rambunctious black pugs. She is a huge sports fan starting at her grandkids’ level on up and can be found on lacrosse and soccer sidelines and in hockey rinks most weekends.
