Cori Shepherd Stern wrote her first book when she was fifteen and convinced her mother to let her fly from her small Florida hometown to Manhattan so she could get an agent, which she did by randomly calling agents from the phone book. After landing a Big New York Agent, she promptly developed a mad case of writer's block and began a lifetime of avoiding agents' calls regarding where she was on her rewrite. She went on to become an Oscar-nominated producer and writer, procrastinating on projects as varied as 2013 Academy-nominated documentary OPEN HEART, Hollywood big screen zombie love story WARM BODIES, and tween television series BREAKER HIGH starring Ryan Gosling. She has also spent quite a bit of time abroad living and working in conflict zones, which proved to be much more relaxing than avoiding her rewrites.
