Craig Fear

Craig Fear is a food writer and the author of three soup cookbooks. His latest book, New England Soups from the Sea, will be available on March 8, 2022. It includes 80 recipes for chowders, bisques, stews, broths, and medleys. Craig's perspective on food and food systems has been influenced by his travels, which include many trips to Asia, as well as his study of nutrition and traditional diets. He is a former Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) who spent many years in practice helping clients with digestive issues. Craig is also an advocate for traditional, sustainable food from small-scale farms and fisheries. He's a board member of Eating with the Ecosystem, a New England-based non-profit which promotes a place-based approach to sustaining New England's wild seafood He grew up in the northeast but has lived in many places around the country, including several years in the seaside town of Homer, Alaska where he learned he was more adept at writing about food than growing or catching it. He is also the author of The 30-Day Heartburn Solution, Fearless Broths and Soups, and The Thai Soup Secret.
