Cynthia Burkhead

I am an Assistant Professor of English at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama, specializing in such diverse subjects as Film and Television, Folklore, Anglophone Studies, and 20th Century American Literature. I was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. I have lived in Monterey, California; West Berlin, Germany; and St. Louis, Missouri. I have resided in Alabama since 1997. In addition to being a teacher and scholar, I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and craftswoman. I collect action figures and clocks. I build houses with Habitat for Humanity
