Damon Smith also known as Mr. Hey Now is an author and artist located in St. Louis MO. After serving two terms of incarceration in the Missouri Department of Corrections, decided to turn his life around and use his God given talent with words to move his life in a different direction. Speaking purely from the urban/street perspective his books and music paint the picture of the experiences he has endured throughout his life. His first book Loud A Strong Story (0.5) is an urban novel filled with bits and pieces of the real street life that sent him back to prison for the second time. It paints the picture of what life is like for a convicted felon with no real opportunities to do better and to what extremes he went through to live life on the terms that he wanted. Consequences and repercussions, wins and loses, information and clever anecdotes line the pages from cover to cover. His second book 142 Thoughts Of A Convicted Felon is a catalog of poetry and spoken word put together behind the fences of several of the Correctional Centers and Prisons he had the displeasure of visiting. It breaks down the thought process of a convicted felon and the feelings and emotions that consume you while you have no control over your life because of bad decisions that led you to that point. Apologies, anger, hate, love, betrayal, wishes, hopes, and every thing else that comes to mind when you only have time to think. His third book Solitary Confinement (My Walls Are Talking) is a continuation of his second book 142 Thoughts Of A Convicted Felon, and is filled with all of the complex feelings and emotions that he endured during a 365 day 23 and 1 lockdown in solitary confinement at Missouri's oldest and most dangerous prison 'The Walls' (also known as the Bloodiest 47 acres in America). His fourth book December (A Story About Burning My Bed) is a true story of soul ties and how they may or may not affect your life. Written completely in the first person, so many different things can happen in the span of one month, and this story is the proof. The CEO of Freshoutent is also an advocated for Multiple Sclerosis in honor of his mother Edna Smith who has suffered from the autoimmune for 30 years and was the reason he left the street life to become an Author and Artist.
