Dana Cooper is a designer and illustrator best known for her whimsical children’s books My Bermuda ABC, My Bermuda 123, and Bermuda Baby ABC. Born and raised in Bermuda, she was inspired by her childhood outdoors in the turquoise island water and sandy sea shores. After years of drawing and dreaming of being an illustrator, she left the island to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Parsons School of Design and study at The National Academy of Design in New York City. Most notably, her work has been featured in such newspapers and magazines as W Magazine, Sports Illustrated, The Week, Talk Magazine, Wall Street Journal, The New York Sun, The Washington Post, Citi Edition, the first foreign licensed magazine in Beijing, China, Conde Nast Publications and The RG Magazine in Bermuda earning The Society of Publications Designer Merit Award. She is also the owner and operator of Dana Cooper Designs, a tropical swimwear brand that started with a beach sarong featuring the Bermuda Bay Grape leaf that grows on a strong, colourful tree found along the seashores of Bermuda. Now, it has grown to include numerous pieces, made with luxurious colours and bold prints on high performance sportswear fabrics.
