Danell Jones is an award-winning writer, scholar, and teacher. She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University where she was honored with a Whiting Fellowship in the Humanities and a Bennett Cerf Award for her work on Virginia Woolf. She is the author of The Virginia Woolf Writers’ Workshop: Seven Lessons to Inspire Great Writing and Desert Elegy--a chapbook of poetry--and The Whimsical Muse: Poetic Play for Busy Creatives. Her book An African in Imperial London: The Indomitable Life of A.B.C. Merriman-Labor won the 2019 High Plains Book Award for Nonfiction. Her latest book is The Girl Prince: Virginia Woolf, Race, and the Dreadnought Hoax.
