Daniel S. Pasternack is a coach, teacher, school leader and author who has spent his entire adult life dedicated to helping the underserved achieve their goals. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area as a diehard sports fan (A's, Sharks, Warriors and 49ers) and avid historian and has carried that into his life as an adult and community leader, using sports to help communities grow and flourish. Pasternack played baseball and hockey for many years and has coached for over two decades at the youth, high school and college levels in football, basketball, hockey, soccer and baseball. He also ran the San Diego RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program for several years through his nonprofit organization Athletic Initiative. Additionally, Pasternack was a co-founder of Old Town Academy in San Diego and kick started the athletic programs there and started the baseball program at Democracy Prep at the Agassi Campus and the sports program at Explore Academy in Las Vegas.
