Dan Pioske is an Assistant Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota, where he teaches in the Department of Theology. He is the author of three books, "David's Jerusalem: Between Memory and History," (Routledge, 2015), "Memory in a Time of Prose: Studies in Epistemology, Hebrew Scribalism, and the Biblical Past," (Oxford, 2018), and "the Bible Among Ruins: Time, Material Remains, and the World of the Biblical Writers," (Cambridge, 2023). His research centers on the relationship between archaeology and the biblical writings, the history of ancient Israel, and how we read the Bible in the 21st century.
