Danielle Centoni is a James Beard Award-winning food writer, editor, recipe developer and cookbook author based in Portland, Oregon. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she started her career as the food editor of The Oakland Tribune before joining the staff at The Oregonian. She was also the senior editor at Imbibe Magazine; editor of MIX Magazine, Portland's premier magazine of food and drink; and editor of Eater Portland. Her articles and recipes have been featured in regional and national publications including EatingWell, Better Homes and Gardens, Fine Cooking, Bon Appetit, Conde Nast Traveler, Epicurious, and TheKitchn, among many others. Danielle aims to create recipes that go big on flavor but light on effort. She is the author of "Portland Cooks" (Figure 1, 2017), "Fried Rice" (Sasquatch 2019), "The Little Local Portland Cookbook" (Countryman Press, 2019), and "Just a Spritz" (Artisan 2021). She has also co-authored several cookbooks including “Mother’s Best: Comfort Food That Takes You Home Again” with chef Lisa Schroeder of Mother’s Bistro (Taunton Books, 2009), and "The Sugar Cube" with food cart owner Kir Jensen (Chronicle Books, Spring 2012), and Oregon Wine + Food with Kerry Newberry (Figure 1, 2023).
