Danny Howell

Hi, I'm Danny Howell. I live in Georgia with my family. I love God and family above all. I enjoy music—especially from the 70s and 80s. I read mostly non-fiction, but enjoy a good novel from great authors. I enjoy sports, fishing, and the great outdoors. My all-time favorite author and preacher is Charles Swindoll. I remember my first Swindoll book, "Hand Me Another Brick." I was hooked from then till now. Something about that book said, "Hey, you can write, too." I started working on the series The Pilgrim's Run five years ago. After many revisions and tons of reading and research, the first book is finally ready for you. I truly hope every reader enjoys this book and the following titles in the series. My writing journey began over forty years ago. Through many ups and downs in life, I almost gave up on my lifelong dream of becoming a novelist. Like many writers, I tried the traditional markets for decades and collected my share of rejection letters. Just as I decided to go in another direction, my daughters convinced me to keep writing. If it had not been for their encouragement, this book would not have been available today. At first, I dug up one of my old novels and tried to resurrect it, but I decided it was not the right time. So, I dug a little deeper into an idea I had back in the late 1980s. I tried to write it back then, but my efforts fell flat, so it wound up in a file somewhere rotting away. When I began working on it again five years ago, I couldn't stop writing; it was as if a flood opened in my heart and mind. It has taken several revisions to get to this point. I almost laugh when I look back at that awkward first draft! Let me know what you think. I truly hope you enjoy the book and the series.
