Darla K. Shar MSN, RN is a nursing educator with a rich background in both the practical and theoretical nursing. She began her career as an LPN, graduating from the Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing, (HEMSPN). She now holds a MSN from Walden University with a specialty in nursing education, which she earned after obtaining her BSN from Kent State University. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Hannah Mullins School of Practical Nursing, Darla contributes significantly to cultivating the next wave of nursing professionals. Her experience extends to the national level as a textbook and NCLEX®-style item reviewer, and as an item writer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Learning Extension. Darla's forward-looking approach is evident in her work with the electronic nursing resources for major publishers, incorporating technology to enhance learning, and writing NGN-style questions for HEMSPN. When not writing or reviewing, Darla spends time with her husband, 3 children and their spouses, and 2 very busy grandsons.
