David L. Brunsma earned his doctorate in Sociology in 1998 from the University of Notre Dame. Since then he has published his scholarship on multiracial identity, school uniforms, critical sociology, race and racism, racial identity, whiteness, human rights, music and intersectionalities in both books and peer-reviewed journal articles. He is currently Professor of Sociology at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA where he works closely with graduate students and teaches a wide variety of courses from a critical interdisciplinary sociological perspective. He is Founding Co-Editor of the new journal Sociology of Race and Ethnicity.
