David Damico (1960-) credits his high school English teacher Sue Belmont for his love of reading and writing. "I came late to the game" says Damico. "I was not a big reader as a kid and, while I won a writing contest in 7th grade, I had no notion of what story I could tell as a writer." Ms. Belmont was Damico's first real reader. "I experienced for the first time the thrill of someone's reading a story and telling me they liked it. It was intoxicating for a young teenager like me." Damico lives is Oceanside California with his wife Kellie, chocolate standard poodle Sadie and rescue toy white poodle/mix Fergie. He works in Chula Vista, California as the Director of Information and Educational Technology Sweetwater Union High School District.
