David has always been passionate about fantasy, science fiction, and anime. His love of these genres and active imagination have intertwined into his art, shaping his creative journey. Kyra of the North is his first novel and a testament to his belief that anything is possible with hard work and perseverance. During the early years of David’s education, it became evident that he struggled with reading and writing and was not progressing with his classmates. After being tested, he was classified with a learning disability, which affected how he comprehended and understood the structure of words when reading or writing. With the help and support of his family and educators, David was enrolled in special programs and classes to help him adapt and develop tools to help him throughout his life. David obtained a BA in Graphic Arts from Western Connecticut State University and later an MS in Interactive Communication from Quinnipiac University. Even with success in his education and career, he still feared and often avoided writing. The worry about making mistakes or being misunderstood held him back until writing Kyra of the North. Not only did he find a passion for writing through this experience, but he also learned not to fear trying something new.
