Thanks for visiting my Amazon author page. I write books, screenplays and plays. My novel for middle-range readers (8-12ish), The Book of Stolen Dreams has just come out so please take a look! I started my career directing theatre, and ran three theatres in the UK, including The Lyric Theatre Hammersmith in London. I was also Associate Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company for five years until 2012. During this time I started to write more and more, for screen and stage. I adapted Kafka, Dickens, Gogol and Homer for the theatre. I wrote my own plays for adult and younger audiences (you can find them here) and I began to write for screen. In 2010 my screenplay of Hanna was turned into a film by Joe Wright, starring Saoirse Ronan and Cate Blanchett. My television adaptation of The Night Manager was released by the BBC in 2015 starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. I have also written a television version of Hanna for Amazon (three seasons) and am currently helming a new adaptation of John Wyndham's The Midwich Cuckoos for Sky, starring Keeley Hawes. I take the same approach to all forms. I love telling stories. That's why The Book of Stolen Dreams is so important to me. It's all about the power of stories, how important it is we keep telling them to each other, and how vital that we remain free to do so.
