David Himmel affords his vices as a mercenary writer and editor. The Peter Lisagor Award-winning writer's books include "Hope Idiotic," "The Last DJ," and "A Camp Story." His fiction has appeared in a variety of literary anthologies and magazines. Other essays and journalistic stories appear on magazine racks and websites. He has also written well-received comedic plays for The Second City and as an associate artist with The Fine Print Theatre, and was the head writer on "Greetings! From Prison," the award-winning web series. In May 2007, Himmel wrote the first cover profile on Kim Kardashian for the now defunct "Racket Magazine." In it, he predicted exactly the Kardashian-influenced world we live in today. Blame Himmel. He deserves it and accepts it. He is currently co-editor of the digital 'zine, Literate Ape where he regularly contributes essays that are thoughtful, humorous, and personal and a creative director at an award-winning creative agency. He lives in Chicago.
