David Mandel was born in Lima, Peru. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where one of this teachers was Dr. Moshe Greenberg one of the foremost biblical scholars of the 20th century. Mandel lives in Israel since 1970. He founded and directed a programming firm specializing in biblical programs, such as concordance. Since he sold the company he dedicates his time to writing and giving lectures. His blog in Spanish, "Mi Enfoque" has over 10,000 suscribers in 28 countries. His book "Who is who in the Jewish Bible" was designated "Outstanding book of 2008 by the University Press Committee of the United States.
