David Pearce

David Pearce is a British philosopher who advocates for the use of biotechnology to promote the wellbeing of all sentient beings. He is the author of The Hedonistic Imperative (1995), a manifesto that outlines how genetic engineering and nanotechnology will abolish suffering in all sentient life. In 1998, Pearce, together with Nick Bostrom, co-founded the World Transhumanist Association, now known as Humanity+, an international nonprofit organization that "advocates the ethical use of technology to expand human capacities."
