David Philipps is a national correspondent for the New York Times, where he covers the military, veterans and the Mountain West. His is a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting and has twice been named a Pulitzer finalist. His work has appeared in numerous publications including The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Chicago Tribune and The Los Angeles Times, and he has been featured in documentaries, including the 2020 film "The Gallagher Effect," which was awarded an Emmy. Philipps is the author of three books, including his latest, the real-life thriller ALPHA. He lives in Colorado Springs with his family.
