David W. Johnson is former journalist and college instructor who writes about American music. The Life and Music of Booker "Bukka" White: Recalling the Blues is his second book. His first is Lonesome Melodies: The Lives and Music of the Stanley Brothers. Both were published the University Press of Mississippi.
