David Worsfold is best known for his work as an award-winning financial journalist, in particular as a writer on the insurance industry and financial services which he has covered for over 40 years. As an author he has written two highly acclaimed military histories. As well as editing a range of leading business titles, David wrote for The Guardian for several years and has contributed to most major national newspapers in the UK. He has appeared on radio and television as a commentator on insurance and financial issues and is an experienced conference speaker and facilitator. His first book, Fighting for the Empire, a military biography, was published by Sabrestorm in September 2106. A second military history book on Operation Aerial – the evacuations from France in June 1940 after the fall of Dunkirk – was published in June 2022, with a paperback edition added in October 2023. He has also written two business books published by Business Expert Press: Twitter for Financial Services, published in December 2017, and From Behind The Desk to The Front of the Stage, published in October 2018 He has created an innovative range of training courses and coaching modules for people who need to move from behind their desk to the front of the stage as part of their job. These have been run successfully for over 20 years, helping hundreds of people to be more confident and effective presenters. Among his many achievements, David launched the British Insurance Awards – now the most successful B2B awards scheme in the UK – and in 2019 he helped create the Women in Insurance Awards which has quickly established itself as another premier awards scheme. In 1990 he established the All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance & Financial Services which has played an influential role in improving communication between the insurance and retail financial services sectors and Parliament.
