Davin de Kergommeaux

An independent whisky expert, Davin de Kergommeaux has been writing about, talking about, and teaching about whisky for more than two decades. He is a sought-after whisky judge, and leads sold-out masterclasses at major whisky events across Canada and the U.S. In 2016 the Globe & Mail named him one of Canada's most influential people in food and drink, while a 2018 feature in the New York Times commented that his influence in raising the profile of Canadian whisky could not be overstated. He is an original member of the Malt Maniacs, joining this global whisky project in 1999. De Kergommeaux is the founder, head judge, and master of ceremonies for the Canadian Whisky Awards, and publishes comprehensive notes about Canadian whiskies on canadianwhisky.org. His writing and tasting notes appear regularly in Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate magazine, and various lifestyle publications. In addition to his own books, de Kergommeaux has contributed to 6 other books about whisky and 2 about spirits and cocktails. De Kergommeaux lives in Canada with his wife and Lhasa Apso pup, splitting his time between Ontario and British Columbia, where he was born. He writes full time.
