Dr. Dawn Irons, LPC-S, BCPCC completed all core coursework for her doctoral degree at a secular CACREP-accredited program. During her dissertation phase of the program, she experiences such ideological push back against her her topic regarding religious and spiritual competencies in counseling, she chose to transfer her degree to a faith-based institution. She completed her doctorate of Psychology and Counseling at B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary. Since completing her research, Dr. Irons has been called to participate as an expert in professional discussion panels, and has been a frequent speaker at national conventions for the American Association of Christian Counselors and provided continuing education opportunities for the Association of Mental Health Professional. Dr. Irons' areas of expertise include legal and ethical issues in counseling, and multicultural ethical dilemmas with the CACREP-accreditation standards and the American Counseling Association's code of ethics.
