Deb Gruelle (grew-WELL) is a bestselling and award-winning author of four traditionally published books for both adults and children. BOOKS FOR ADULTS Aching for a Child: Emotional, Spiritual, and Ethical Insights for Women Struggling with Infertility or Miscarriage, 2nd Edition, helps those facing obstacles in creating a family, grieving the loss of a baby during pregnancy, or feeling confused by the medical, ethical, and spiritual questions they face during these struggles. BOOKS FOR CHILDREN Ten Little Night Stars, prepares children for sleep as it teaches counting and has been wildly popular (over 150,000 sold). Sleepy Time Colors, a snuggly companion book, teaches little ones colors. Ten Little Fireflies introduces little ones to numbers as they count down to bedtime. Deb is related to Johnny Gruelle, the creator of Raggedy Ann and Andy, and loves being a third-generation writer for children. She feels honored to share stories with children to enrich their childhood memories. A recovering technical writer, she's also authored over 100 articles for women's and parenting magazines including American Baby, as well as storyboards for children's games. Deb serves as a conference speaker and a coach for writers. She’s passionate about helping clients clarify their issues and strengths so they can take their next step toward the writing dream in their hearts. She also enjoys supporting writers by serving as chaplain for Inspire Christian Writers. During school author visits, she has fun spreading her love for children’s literacy. She's also been featured on multiple radio broadcasts, including Family Life Today. A former homeschooling mom, Deb loved raising three multi-ethnic children who joined her family by both birth and adoption (though she often wondered when they were little if she would last until nap time). Deb has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to help children in foster care navigate the court system. You can often find her reading mysteries and eating popcorn on her porch swing in summer or by her fireplace in winter.
