Deborah L. Ouellette

Hello and welcome to my author’s page! I’m a retired teacher of Elementary School age children, Grades 1-6, have 2 sons, and have 2 granddaughters. I am married and my husband and I have just moved to Sidney, Maine. I was born in Fort Kent, Maine and lived the first 18 years of my life in Frenchville, Maine with my parents and 5 siblings. My first teaching assignment was a Grade 5 class in Salisbury, New Brunswick, Canada. I taught for 25 years there, and I truly enjoyed those years with my new friends and family. I returned to Maine in the year 2003 and have been here since then. I continued teaching in area schools for another 15 years. I watched my dear mother battle cancer and when she was finally taken from us, my brother was diagnosed with the same cancer as my mom, and I was there to help as much as I could. After his death, I was diagnosed. Why I survived and am still in remission is beyond my understanding. I am actively involved in the lives of my sons, Sean and Adam, and their daughters. Being a mother and grandmother is the greatest blessing I could have received in life. Family has always been a priority. If you have read my first published book, “A Piece of my Heart,” you understand my love for my granddaughters. Writing has always been my passion, and I have much to share with you, my readers.
