DeeAnn M. Reeder

关于作者

DeeAnn Reeder is bat biologist and a Professor at Bucknell University. Her research explores the relationships between bat health, ecosystem health, conservation, and human disease risk in African bats and she has also contributed significantly to our understanding of the deadly wildlife disease White-nose Syndrome (WNS) in North American bats. Dr. Reeder holds a research position at the Smithsonian Institution and is also recognized for her studies of mammal biodiversity, especially in South Sudan. Her work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, National Geographic, and the US Fish & Wildlife Service. A fervent believer in science communication, she is as at home in a third-grade classroom as she is granting interviews to the national and international press. She splits her time between the university in Pennsylvania, her field sites in Africa, and her home in Florida with her spouse and two dogs – watching the night sky
