Denise Rosario Adusei is an award-winning author, educator, and cultural leader. As Executive Director of the Bronx Children's Museum, she brings Rudine Sims Bishop’s "Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Doors" theory to life, helping children see themselves and explore the world through art and literature. Denise is the author of Cesaria Feels the Beat, a vibrant picture book celebrating Carnival culture and music. Her work reflects a passion for authentic storytelling, including her collaboration with Priscilla, a deaf Brazilian illustrator, to elevate underrepresented voices. She also founded an art-focused preschool in New York City and has dedicated her career to supporting children and families through education and creativity. Denise lives in New York City with her husband and children, where she continues to inspire young minds and celebrate cultural representation.
