Dennis Dauble retired in 2009 after a 35+ year career as a fisheries scientist to spend more time writing about fish and fishing. His natural history guidebook, "Fishes of the Columbia Basin," and the recent short story collection, "Bury Me With My Fly Rod" won Awards of Excellence from the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association. A recent review by Writers Digest of "Bury Me With My Fly Rod" stated, “The writing is so eloquent and beautiful. This is a book about fly fishing, but it could be a book of poetry at certain points." Many of his stories focus on the often unspoken connections between human behavior and angling. Others are merely a good read–a day on a river, lake or stream. As Dauble says, "My books are meant to both entertain and inform interested readers." Dauble currently writes for several angling magazines and regional newspapers. He is a member of the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association, the Outdoor Writers of America, and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. Want to learn more?
