Dennis Allan McElrath was born in Oceanside, California, on September 21, 1933. He is the son of Harry F. and Linda (Schneider) McElrath. He is honored to have lived and worked in Fiji, playing a significant role in developing the country’s tourism, especially Denarau Island. His achievements include: • Listed as a Noteworthy Real Estate Executive by Marquis Who’s Who • Awarded a Commemorative Medal from the Fiji Government in 1995 • Served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, 1951–1955 • Member of the Fiji Lawn Tennis Association and the International Game Fishing Association McElrath’s career began after he studied Aeronautical Engineering at Cal Aero Technical Institute for two years, then joined Douglas Aircraft Corporation. From there, you can trace his path through commercial real estate development in Fiji, thanks in large part to his accidental discovery of Denarau Island in 1969. McElrath shares the credit for his success with his family, friends, and business partners across Fiji and the globe.
